On my day off yesterday, Marc and I drove to Payson on a whim. We were probably there no more than 3 hours, but as with any exploration around this state, the destination is the journey. Arizona truly is a weird and magical place.

Too bad we can't make it out on a Wednesday, the only day this junk yard is open for business. There were acres and acres of bikes, motorcycles, cars, and who knows what else. You could probably find yourself a nice bike frame to salvage from there. There had to have been thousands.

Marc gets nervous around gratuitous animal heads.

It wasn't what we expected, but you never know what you'll find until you check out a place.
love these pics, look so much fun!!

looks like a good time! My husband and I have decided to try and go on as many little adventures around Az as we can this summer. Maybe we will add Payson to the list...although I do not do well with animal heads.
ReplyDeleteI don't know if it's worth a trip on its own. I would suggest stopping there for a bit on the way to somewhere else. Don't mean to dump on a whole town, but really, the dead animals were the highlight. And the drive up is beautiful. Especially right now there are wildflowers and ocotillos in bloom.
ReplyDeletelovely pics!
