Two Saturdays worth

Here are a couple of outfits from the past two Saturdays that I worked. It's usually just on Saturdays that I put effort into what i wear, because on the weekdays, I spend most of my time in the stockroom being a hermit and processing shipment.
I love playing with unexpected color combinations and mixing different inspirations. I paired this rugged, ethnic (don't mean to be culturally insensitive, I just don't know the origin of it) belt, with an early sixties inspired shirt dress, and pulled from a color in the belt to match the shoes. This reinforces my number one fashion maxim: it's not supposed to match, it's supposed to 'go'. Whether or not this 'goes' is debatable, but I think it's that sort of conflict that makes outfits interesting.
Dress: Anthropologie
Belt: Goodwill
Shoes: Target
Excuse my perpetually dirty old floor. And if you're wondering about the nail polish (yeah, I actually took time to paint my nails, the world is not ending), it's Merino Cool by Essie and I loooove it.
Another work outfit, worn on the last day I could possibly wear boots and tights. It has been in the 90s lately and I'm not happy about it at all.
Dress: Tucker for target
Belt: Anthropologie
tights: Hue
Boots: an Etsy vintage shop that has since been taken down

  1. That first picture looks like a catalog shot! I really like how you paired the dress with the shoes based on a color on the belt.

  3. Totally would not expect the two prints in the first picture to ever go together but you pulled it off great!

  5. I love your first look! That darling floral dress, the funky belt, the blue shoes - everything goes together perfectly! Oh and I adore your hair. It makes me miss having a bob, haha.

  6. The man’s got it. Love the looks for summer.
Sean wears the clothes rather than them wearing him, it’s important to look at ease and comfortable, lived-in.
For anyone interested in prep style, I write a blog from a London, UK perspective. Lots of interviews and photography.
